Reviews and Ratings
The hotel had different rooms, all excellent and well-provisioned, but could use a facelift. I enjoyed the grand ambiance with two ensuites, though bathrobes and slippers would be a nice addition. The service was like being in a gracious family home, very friendly and professional, but a new staff member seemed inexperienced. The location was perfect for photos, easy walks into town or along quiet lanes. The dining offered a good variety of well-cooked dishes, with room for improvement. The facilities were good but could benefit from enhancements.
My stay at the hotel was a mixed experience. The rooms were comfortable and overlooked the frontage of the hotel, although somewhat small and with noisy floorboards. However, the service was outstanding, thanks to the Manager Selina and her staff who were friendly and very helpful. The location, with its beautiful surroundings and easy parking, was pleasant, despite some minor issues. The dining options were decent, offering a good selection, but lacking variety. Overall, a stay with ups and downs.
The hotel is set in a lovely countryside location, close to the bustling town of Wem and surrounded by peaceful lanes. The rooms, although beautifully decorated in a classic style, are smaller than expected. The service provided was exceptionally pleasant and attentive, even going the extra mile to inform us of breakfast closures. The dining options were delicious, showcasing a variety of cooked and continental choices. The overall experience is enhanced by the serene surroundings, but the proximity to the loud disco nearby may be a downside.
